Wet n Wild Here’s to the Wild Ones for Fall 2015

You know fall is coming when pumpkin spice everything begins filling every inch of the supermarket. A new season means new collections! At the start of a new season, you can always find me stalking my drugstores in hopes of finding the new collections. The jackpot is when you find a new display totally untouched by any customer! You know what I’m talking about! Those moments make me want to whip out my camera and snap a pick for documentation but no, I never really do that! Although, temptation does lurk about.

The folks at Wet n Wild know how to do polish. That’s why I was beyond excited when I saw this new fall release. I put them all in my basket. I didn’t even stop and check out the price or anything. I know this brand is one I trust and it’s always affordable at $1.99 each. You can grab the whole collection without going broke!

This new collection from Wet n Wild is made up of 6 polishes in their MegaLast formulation. They’re all fun deep colors just in time for fall. I am enthusiastic just looking at them! I can’t wait to share these new beauties!

I chose to try this dark metallic purple, Thrift Shopaholic first. I didn’t expect to fall in love with it but I did. It applied flawlessly in one coat and this soft metallic purple caught me off guard. I thought it was going to take a couple of coats to build this up but to my surprise I just needed one! ONE COAT! Do you know how excited that makes me? Usually with these types of polishes you need at least two, you know what I’m talking about! I had no idea this polish was going to be such a winner.

Your end product may show some brushstrokes but that’s okay. At least to me, I didn’t care at all about the brushstrokes. That gorgeous purple flash got me. This is what I wanted all the metallic purples I’ve ever picked up to look like.

I’ve been on a(n inactive) search for the perfect metallic purple for a while now. I’d say I’ve tried about 10 polishes like this in all my years of polishes and none have impressed me this much. I have been wanted to pick up Sexy Divide from Essie for a while now, but after trying this one, I’m hooked and I’m all good. Maybe I will end up picking Sexy Divide up just for fun and do a comparison too.

If you’re wondering how Thrift Shopaholic compares to Zoya Giada from the new Flair Collection for Fall 2015, here’s a bottle comparison. Giada is more pink and the shimmer is more reflective. They are both metallic purples, so you don’t need both. I personally prefer Thrift Shopaholic, I’m not a fan of pinky purples. If you would like to see a close up of Giada, check out my whole review here!

I Moss Have It was the one I knew I had to have. It’s an interesting golden deep olive shade with sparse multicolored flecky shimmer that was too unique to skip on. There is so much going on in this polish, flecks and shimmer! To me, it’s a more wearable version of Wallis from Butter London or this similar polish from Rimmel. I painted this one on and all I could think in my head was Pretty. Pretty. Pretty. So pretty! I need another! I think that about sums up how I feel about this one! YOU NEED THIS! It’s another one of those pretty ugly colors, like Zoya Charli! Did I mention it’s a one coater? Yep. So now you absolutely must have it.

I’m going to be wearing gray profusely this season, whether it be in the form of apparel, accessories or on my nails. Here’s a polish I can add to the rotation. Keep Vinyl Alive is a soft metallic coal gray with micro shimmer of green, blue, pink and purple. It’s edgy with a girly touch. I like it. I like it very much. You really can’t capture what’s going on in this polish through a photo. This has a thinner formula but two coats looked great.

Deep and vampy is back. Gettin’ Inked is as vampy as a black cherry metallic can get. What’s sad is that the metallic quality doesn’t translate on the nail. This is a one coater. I didn’t see any of the red shimmer peaking through so I ended up adding a second. I still couldn’t see any shimmer, only if you get this under direct light do you see the red shimmer. Depending on how you look at it, that can be a good or a bad thing.

I’d say if you want something along the same lines as this but with more intense red shimmer, try OPI Muir Muir on the Wall.

Here’s how it looks when it’s under direct artificial light! So pretty!

For something that’s more red, here is Stop and Mel-the-Roses. This is a very fuchsia, raspberry red. A rosey red, I guess. You can get a softer look that’s more pink in one coat, or go with two for a stronger darker look.

Pop-Up Bluetique is a metallic blue we are seeing everywhere these days. It seems every brand is releasing something along these lines. This on-trend blue metallic was easy to apply in just one coat. I used two to intensify the look and build it up a little. I love metallic blues and this one had a great formula and I’d recommend it to anyone who needs a metallic blue.

I compare every metallic blue to Essie Aruba Blue. Guess what, they’re dupes! It’s always great to from a dupe that costs half the price as the other!

I know with all the new fall releases that there are a bunch of blue metallics on the market right now. The two I immediately think of are Essie Bell-Bottom Blues and Zoya Estelle. I’ve done a review of both of those polishes and their collections and I also compared them both to Essie Aruba Blue, so if you want to see how they compare, check the posts out here and here! If you’re too lazy, and I completely understand, I’ll just give you the base line. They’re different.

If you’re wondering how this compares to OPI St. Mark’s the Spot, I address that in my review of Zoya Estelle, here.

This was a great collection. Wet n Wild knows their polish, I told you! My favorites and must haves are I Moss Have It  and Thrift Shopaholic. If you get anything from this collection it must, absolutely must, be I Moss Have It. ‘Cause you know, you moss have it! Corny. The olive with golden shimmer is beautiful but add in some fleck shimmer and that great price and you simply can’t beat it!

You can find this collection anywhere Wet n Wild is sold. I found these at Walgreens and that’s where I typically have the best luck when it comes to new WnW and Sinful Colors. Each polish is just $1.99 so head on over before they’re gone! You know everyone loves a good deal and boy, these are a good deal!

You’re killing me with these polishes!! I have been looking for a dupe for an old Artmatic nail polish, that’s 10+ years old, that’s also my all-time favorite nail polish and from swatches I thought Sexy Divide could be a dupe, but I’ll try this Wet n Wild one first. Even if it’s not a dupe, it’s beautiful!! I really should start going to Walgreens more often, but with a Walmart and a Target literally 4 blocks away from my house, a trip to Walgreens is pretty rare! Thanks once again for the awesome post!!
