Serum No. 5 What a Blast!

Yesterday I shared a new polish I purchased from Serum No. 5 and I promised I would share the second item in my order today. As July 4th draws near, here’s another polish to add to my red, white and blue series.

What a Blast! is a chunky glow in the dark glitter polish. Yep. Glow in the dark glitter! This festive polish is extremely dense with chunky metallic red, blue and silver glitter. There are metallic red and blue hexes, silver large and small star glitter and some sparse medium white hexes. I was barely able to notice the white hexes until I swatched the polish. There is some beautiful scattered holographic micro shimmer throughout this lightly tinted gray base. This polish is amazing on its own, but I personally prefer it over a base color, it’s too sheer on its own. In my swatches below, I have it alone and over white. As always, chunky glitter eats up top coat so be sure to add a second coat of gloss!

Glow in the dark is what Serum No. 5 is known for. They’ve got to be at the top of the list of glow in the dark polishes of all time. This indie brand is one I continue to purchase and support from. Their polishes never disappoint.

What a Blast! glows a bright blueish white. The base glows white and the glitter pieces glow their respective colors. Even in the dark, it’s red, white and blue! This is the ultimate July 4th polish!

So which polish was your favorite from my red, white and blue series? I’d have to say my pick is this one or yesterday’s First Colors. Seriously, I love all my Serum No. 5 polishes!

July 4th is fast approaching! Check back soon to see my mani for this year. I think I’m going to go with something simple this year… We’ll see… Until then, take a look at the other polishes in my red, white and blue series! For a cheaper patriotic glitter, check out this one from Sinful Colors.
