Sally Hansen Beachside Astrologer Collection LE for Summer 2015

There’s a huge new collection in town and it’s from Sally Hansen. Besides the Bridal Collection that’s floating around, there are many more new releases from Sally Hansen. This new Beachside Astrologer Collection features a polish for every astrology sign and more. I saw the huge limited edition display at CVS and I knew I had to get one or two to try. There are a total of 18 polishes, from what I saw. I grabbed two, the one that represented my sign, Vir-go-go Pink and this interesting yellow shade named Gemincello.

For swatches and pictures of the display, keep reading!

Here are pictures of the display. I told you there were lots of polishes! Oh and that gorgeously tanned model. So sorry for the blurry photos, I get weary when it comes to taking photos of displays at drugstores. This was at CVS. In the open area at the front of the store. Yea, it was a little awkward for me to take these shots…

I’m an Virgo baby. If a polish is named after my star sign, chances are I’m gonna pick it. Dang, I’m such a predictable consumer. They’ve got me in their little palms. Vir-go-go Pink is a soft dusty pastel pink that leans in the neutral realm. I’m not at all into pink nail polish but this one I can work with. I love these type of ladylike shades that make my hands look oh so lovely.

The formula is on the thicker side. These have got their signature Complete Salon Manicure brushes. I actually don’t like thicker brushes due to my small nails. So that brush and formula combo didn’t go so well for me. It wasn’t too bad though. I just cleaned off the brush just enough to apply 2 thin layers.

Gemincello is the second polish I picked. In the display, everything else didn’t look very unique. This polish caught my eye because it’s a yellow with some brownish tan undertones. This may sound/look ugly to most people but something about it drew me in. The formula is very good, nice and creamy.

On the nails, it reminds me of Wet n Wild Bee-U-Tiful from the limited edition California Dreaming Collection new for this summer. Gemincello has an orangey tone running through it whereas Bee-U-Tiful is a buttery yellow. Okay let me break this down how I see the two. Gemincello is a yolky yellow and Bee-U-Tiful is a custard yellow. That really paints the picture for me, I hope that helps you!

So what are my final thoughts? Do you need these babies in your life? The shades I chose weren’t that exciting and the shades I saw on the display didn’t seen super interesting either, I felt like I had dupes all throughout my nail stash. So basically, if you’re not a polish hoarder like I am, this would be a great collection to check out. There’s got to be something you’ll like in this 18-piece release. If you’re really into horoscopes and your star sign, you’ll probably want to pick yours up. No shame in that!

Do I think this is one of the top summer collections out now? No, not really. I think it’s a great concept and it’s a pretty impressive selection of colors but it didn’t blow my socks off like the other summer collections out there now. Check our Wet n Wild’s new summer collection, Julie G’s, or China Glaze’s! There are so many amazing ones! Oh, there’s one coming out that I am EXTREMELY overwhelmingly excited to share. That’ll be coming soon, for now click here to see all my summer collection posts!
