This time around for Mani Monday, I decided to use a new polish from one of my favorite indie brands, ILNP (I Love Nail Polish Brand). This brand caught my attention the first time a few years back. Only recently did I stumble upon their polishes again. The release of the multichrome flakies caused quite a commotion and exploded all over the internet. I took one look at them and knew they had to be mine! I’m pretty new to the world of indie polish, but I have heard these are the best of the best when it comes to multichrome flakies. From what I’ve seen, I completely agree. That’s just my opinion based on what I’ve seen though. Let’s get into the mani to see for yourself.
As you can see from the pic above, I was feeling really purple when I was deciding what to use. I knew I wanted to use ILNP Paradox (H), which is primarily purple, so I picked a purple I recently got and hadn’t gotten the chance to play with until now. Color Club Bell Bottom Babe was on my wish list when it came out last year, part of the Poptastic Neon Collection, not to be confused with the Poptastic Pastel Neon Collection. Only recently did I find a place near me that sells Color Club and as I was browsing, I saw this polish and finally purchased it.
I know you don’t need me to tell you how I did this mani. I mean, I just plopped on the base color, Bell Bottom Babe, then I laid the multichrome flakie top coat Paradox (H) on top. Easy. So let’s get into the polishes themselves. Don’t worry, you can just scroll on through and just look at the pictures if you’d like. I know we all have those days when we don’t feel like reading!
Bell Bottom Babe is a cobalt blue with fuchsia purple shimmer. It’s not a super intense sparkly shimmer, it’s more of a strong purple sheen given off by tons of tiny purple glass shimmer. In my mind, that seems the paint the picture perfectly. The formula of this one was great and glided on easily. I paint just one coat of this so to have it look more purple than blue.
Paradox (H) is a ultra chrome flakie from ILNP that shifts dominantly from teal to fuchsia. At some angles you can see it shift to pink, blue, violet and I can even see some green. The H in parentheses means that this polish has holographic scatter running throughout. There’s a version of Paradox sold without the holo for those interested. This is actually one of the least shiftiest polishes I have from ILNP. If you’re looking for a certain color shift, chances are, you’ll find it there! If you want to see more ILNP polishes in action, I used another Ultra Chrome Flakie named Brilliance here and you can also see an Ultra Chrome lacquer in that mani too!
This may be off topic slightly but do you like calling these flakies? I just don’t like how it sounds. I just like calling them flakes. I feel like a child when I say it aloud. Am I alone in this?
I love how Bell Bottom Babe pairs with Paradox (H). The fuchsia in Bell Bottom Babe
is heightened when you layer Paradox (H) over. I was looking through all my purples in my stash and nothing fit the bill until I found this one!
As luck would have it, Color Club named Bell Bottom Babe their Fan Favorite for this week. That means you can get it for 50% off on their website, colorclub.com, using the code FFBELLBOTTOM. This promotion will last through Sunday 5/3. I had no idea this was going to happen, since I painted these on Sunday and the post was put up on Monday. Whooooo! I love when things work out!
Don’t forget to also get out ILNP if Paradox (H) caught your eye. They have tons of amazing polishes. They’re on the more expensive side at $12.50 each but they’re worth it. Really worth it. Every purchase you make earns you points for future purchases too. I’ve used my points to fuel my addiction with these Ultra Chrome Flakies!
